Lilium Fields is OPEN! Inspired by stable RPs that simply didn't offer enough
options (for me, anyway), LF gives players the ability to roleplay both humans
and wild horses in one game. And if that's not enough, what if you could be a
wild horse with any appearance you want - wings, horns and more? Yeah, it's
pretty awesome. But take a look for yourself and see whether you agree. We hope
you do!

General Rules
- Follow Proboards Terms of Service at all times - Get along with people, whether you like them or not - Fighting, name-calling, harassment, etc. of any kind will result in consequences for all participants - Bad words are allowed; in character, don't use them excessively, and out of character, do not direct them AT another person - Make sure your codes and images do not stretch, manipulate, or weird out the forum - Do not spam, post links to spammy websites, or post repeatedly (cbox or otherwise) in an annoying way - Use proper English at all times; no chat speak or any of that nonsense - Be active! If you can't or won't, everything of yours - your account, characters, and anything you earned in the game - will be archived or up for grabs - Anyone who is found breaking a rule will be given punishment as decided by all staff members collectively; it can be warning points, temporary suspending of your account, or permabanning - Please read through the rules for specific aspects of gameplay below! Although they aren't as mandatory as the aforementioned rules, they explain how different parts of the game work, and if you don't know the information you'll probably play the game wrong. Breaking one of those rules is as bad as breaking one of these rules. Skim at your own risk!
- Lilium Fields is an account-per-character roleplaying game - You should join Lilium Fields with the name and account you'd like to use as your OOC account - We would prefer it if you keep your display names consistent with the username you sign up with - There are three different groupings of account types:
OOC - these are the players' main accounts; each player only gets one
Human - human character accounts; display name format is their full name, such as: First Middle Last
Horse - equine character accounts; display name format is up to you (it can be a full barn/show name, just a first name, or a nickname)
- All characters that you want to roleplay with will need their own account - Human characters can own horse characters, or they can own horses that are not roleplayed out; these are NPCs - If you want to delete, sell or give away a character, we recommend you delete the account for that character once you have done so - There is no set limit to the amount of accounts/characters you can have, but if you continue to create characters when you have inactive ones, we might deny your new characters until you remove or increase activity for the other characters
- You can RP as a human or a horse, and horses can be either wild or tamed - There is no set limit to the amount of accounts/characters you can have, but if you continue to create characters when you have inactive ones, we might deny your new characters until you remove or increase activity for the other characters - You cannot roleplay a character until they have been accepted, whether human, horse, or horse NPC - All characters can be given away, sold, or archived at your discretion and at any time if you ever want to
- When creating human characters, they must be at least 13 years old, and any human characters younger than 18 must have an adult character assigned to care for them - Any humans under age 13 will be NPCs (since it's not really that fun to RP an infant, for example) - Human characters are required to have face claims - Face claims do not have to be celebrities, per say, but they cannot be personal photos, or taken from social media sites - At Lilium Fields, humans are given the opportunity to ride, work with, and own horses as they choose, though in no way are any of these required - Human characters can own up to 5 horses at a time unless they are a horse trainer; trainers can own as many horses as they want - Your human can ride/own horse characters, which can be roleplayed, or they can ride/own NPC horses; it's up to you whether you'd prefer to control your horse as an NPC or whether you want to write out your horse's thoughts and feelings as well - If you choose to have your human ride and/or own a horse character, you cannot just have a thread between the both of you, because horse characters are just tame horses and still can't talk or interact with humans
- You can create three different kinds of horses for use in the game
NPC horses - domesticated horses that are not roleplayed out as their own character; these horses have normal appearances and behave exactly like horses do in real life
Horse characters - these horses are domesticated just like their NPC brethren, living in human captivity and are tame just as normal horses are; however they can be roleplayed out so that they and their human can interact on a more intimate level. For example, while being ridden, you can roleplay the horse as it reacts to each cue your human gives them. These horses have to have the appearances of normal horses still, and they cannot speak, though they have the same level of understanding with their owners/riders that normal horses do. (So they can sense when something is wrong, for example.)
Wild horse characters - these are the wild horses of Lilium Fields, who can speak to each other and to humans; they are not owned by anyone and run free in the Wildlands; however, a human can manage to capture one during a round up, in which case your character will have to remain in captivity until released
- Horse characters, whether wild or tame, have realistic appearances, unless you purchase a special item from the shop to give them fantasy features - Wild horses will not get along with humans, and so they should be afraid/wary of them should they ever meet one IC; if they are captured then they will take time to begin to trust humans - You cannot create a horse younger than 3 years old unless an adult character has been assigned to care for them - You cannot roleplay both parent and child, whether or not they are blood related, and whether they are horses or humans or one of each! Someone else must always play one role or the other! - If you want to create a horse character under 3 years old, you can choose one of these methods;
They must be in captivity and be adopted by and cared for by humans at an established equine facility, if not also by a foster mare (either NPC or playable character)
They must have another horse character above the age of 3 watch over them and stay with them during all IC interactions until they come of age
- When creating a horse character or a horse NPC, you must have already designed a human character to be their owner. All captive horses must have an owner before they are accepted.
- Game time corresponds to time in real life, so one year in the game is equal to one year in real life; the same applies to seasons - Liquid time is allowed, meaning you can have one character participating in multiple threads in different places all at once - All characters will age at least once a year - Human characters can have birthdays; on your character's birthday, you can post in the Birthdays thread in the Claims board to receive a small monetary reward for their birthday; on this day you should also update your character's profiles and trackers to show their new age - Horses will automatically age on the first day of the new year; on this day, staff will be in charge of making sure everyone changes the age of their equine characters - Until they reach the age of maturity (which varies for humans and horses), however, you can 'fast forward' your character's development to aging once a month, but only until they hit the age of maturity; in this instance, each month they will get a year older until they hit the age of maturity and then resume a normal annual birthday - For characters who haven't reached maturity, you must choose either to age your character once a month or once a year the moment you create or are given the character; you cannot switch back and forth - Horses become mature at age 3; humans mature at age 18 - Human characters underneath the age of 18 cannot live on their own; they must live with a parent or guardian - Characters must be 15 years old to get a job; some jobs, however, will require the person to be 18 years old, or that they have some experience in the field - All characters will die eventually - Horses are expected to die at or before age 30; humans can expect to live to 85 years old - Although you can kill off a character at any time, or have them archived for plot purposes, any character that has not been killed by the end of their lifespan will be expected to die of old age - When nearing the end of the lifespan, staff will send you a PM to let you know that the time has come to say goodbye; they will give you a date by which you need to announce the death of your character - Deaths can be roleplayed out or enacted immediately, allowing you to plot out your character nearing death so that you can enjoy the last bit of time you have left with them if you so choose - Once declared dead, your character and all their information will be archived
- By default, human characters will get to choose their own individual apartment to live in. When creating your character you have to register for their apartment home in the claims board. - Characters can move in with each other and leave their apartments at their own discretion and whenever they'd like. - Most people will live in either apartments or houses - Houses are a housing option that is much more attainable; these give you the added benefit of your own sub-board and address. - In order to move from an apartment to a house, you can upgrade by paying a fee, but your character will need a job in order to be eligible for the upgrade since they are a more pricey option - The Estates - a collection of properties that keep horses, including luxury homes, horse farms, and equestrian centers - are only for the most wealthy and/or capable residents of Roanoke. - Estates are offered from time to time through a variety of means; the administrator can personally invite you/your character to own one, auditions can be held, or they can be purchased. - Estates are built custom to your liking; you can choose what your house and facilities (should you have them) look like and how big they are, the name of your estate, etc. Each one gets its own board and as many sub-boards as you want, and the ones that offer services (such as boarding, horse training, etc.) attract a lot of business - The estates are the only places that can house horses; so all tame horses, NPC or otherwise, need to be boarded at one of the facilities
- All wild horses must live in one of the various territories in the Wildlands - All territories within the Wildlands can be claimed by characters unless otherwise stated - Horses must be at least 3 years old to claim land, and can be any gender - By claiming a territory you will assume responsibility for keeping statistics of all those who live in your land; keeping track of everyone who lives there is required for all alphas - You will also need to defend against others who want to challenge you for it - so make sure your character is up to the task before claiming! There's no point in trying if you're going to not be able to defend your land from others - To claim an unclaimed territory, you will need to post IC how your character wants the land - If no one responds to your character's claim within 48 hours, the land is yours and you will need to PM a staff member so they can update the land description - If another horse challenges your claim before the 48 hours are up, or if you want to challenge a horse that has already claimed a land, you will need to fight for it - Challenges can not be made if the person being challenged has posted in the Away board; all challenges against characters that have reported an absence will be null and void - Read more about fights under "Fighting" - Once you claim a land, you will need to post herd stats in the board and keep it active and updated; fail to do this and your title as alpha may be revoked - You may claim other horses into your herd, but by only two ways: you must claim them when they are on your land, or if you want to claim a horse elsewhere, they have to be claimed willingly
- Humans can get pregnant/have children starting at the age of 15 - Horses can get pregnant/have children starting at the age of 3 - No breeding or sex will be roleplayed out; always fade to black - A pregnancy cannot occur unless both parents (human or equine) have met and participated in at least one thread together - It is preferable that the decision to get pregnant/have a child is at least mentioned briefly IC - Once you have made sure the parents have at least met, PM a staff member with a link to a thread between prospective parents to let them know you are trying to get pregnant - Staff will be the ones to determine whether or not conception was successful or not; if you, you may proceed to roleplay out your character's pregnancy, and if not, you may try again in two weeks - Humans can get pregnant any time they have sex; so if you were trying to be sneaky and let your characters at each other and get away with not having a pregnancy, staff will likely find out about it and smack one on you anyway. Lesson learned: always tell staff whenever your character does the deed! - Please let staff know whether you need a pregnancy or a miscarriage for plot purposes; we'll be happy to work with you! - Should your character get pregnant, they will either be pregnant IC for one month or for the full term (9 months for humans, 11 months for horses) so that you can fast forward to birth time if you so desire - If it the decision of your human character to breed their horse (NPC or horse in captivity), you are required to discuss this IC with all participants involved. Namely, the owner of whatever horse you're trying to breed yours with. - On occasion, weird things may happen to pregnancies; some, like twins or even triplets, will be better than others, such as mutations or sicknesses. - Horses in captivity and NPC horses will nearly always have healthy pregnancies, whereas wild horses are prone to more risks and as such will not enjoy the same luxury. - Horses, either NPC or captive or wild, cannot get pregnant again until they have weaned their last foal. - Humans can get pregnant one year after the birth of their last child.
- Human characters can enjoy lots of equine activities in the game world, from caring for horses to riding and showing them - Any human character can be involved in the world of horses, though their age may prohibit them from certain activities - Until a character is 13, they obviously cannot do anything horse-related themselves because they are NPCs, such as caring for horses, riding, etc.); but a parent of a young child can do these things with them, such as ride a horse with their child in the saddle, etc. - A character 13 years and up can care for horses by grooming, feeding, washing, etc. but they cannot earn money doing for it - A character cannot ride horses on their own or take riding lessons until they are 15 - A character 15 years old and older can be hired as a stable/barn hand - Although characters do not have to be a certain age to be able to ride a stallion, it is to be expected that a younger person with less experience will not be able to ride one as successfully as an older one; so be wary of putting minors on the backs of stallions unless you know they can handle it! - Characters must be 15 years or older to be eligible participants at horse shows and events - Round ups will occasionally be offered to any and all human characters interested in participating; these events will give human characters the chance at capturing wild horses - Characters must be 18 years or older to go on round-up excursions

Staff
- Staff are the people that are here to ensure a fun and smooth gaming experience - As a result, you need to listen to and adhere to what any and all staff members say; they were chosen to be staff for a reason! - There are different staff titles which correspond to separate duties, and they are as follows:
Administrator - head honcho, capable of doing anything and everything, but because of this they are often busy so only ask for them if you need their attention specifically
Moderator - help out around the site doing various tasks of importance; if you need something that isn't too urgent but requires staff attention, moderators are there for you to talk to

Money
- Participating around the forum allows you as a member to earn money - Just like in real life, our currency is simply called money/dollars - Earnings are made primarily by posting; the amount earned per post depends on and varies with where you post - OOC boards will never give you as much money for posting as IC boards, in order to encourage IC activity - Additionally, any member who has made at least ten posts somewhere in the forum earns wages; this encourages people who join to actually get involved with the game, instead of creating an account and never doing anything with it - Wages are essentially your salary; a paycheck, if you will, that you receive every two weeks - The amount you receive as your wages depends on your post count; the more you have, the more you get paid - Use money to purchase items in the shop - The shop allows you to buy a variety of items to enhance or personalize your gaming experience - You can also deposit the money you earn into the bank - The bank offers you a secure and private place to store your hard-earned cash - No one but you and staff can see it, and you can deposit into or withdraw from it at any time - In order to use the money in your bank account, however, you'll need to withdraw it first - The bank also adds interest to whatever funds you deposit in it, yet another way to earn money - You don't have to use the bank if you don't want to; your money can stay in your wallet, shown in your profile, at all times if you want - You can also send (or donate) money to other people as needed - Whenever you purchase something from another member, or if you simply want to gift them some money, you can go to their profile and click "Donate" to do so
- Lilium Field's shop feature allows you to buy all kinds of nifty items to enhance your game experience - There are tons of different items, separated into various categories; more items are constantly being added, so check back with the shop from time to time in case special or limited items become available - Some items are single use items; this means that if you purchase one, the moment you use it will render it useless, and staff will remove the item from your inventory - Other items are permanent, meaning that so long as they are in your inventory, they give you a special ability/apply a specific attribute that lasts indefinitely - In most cases, when wanting to use an item you will need to have it in the inventory of the account it's being put towards; to transfer items between accounts, you will need to PM staff and tell them what item(s) need to be switched between which accounts
